“We all have a face that we hide away forever”

Often in our business or personal lives we try to make a certain impression on others we meet.  In doing so we sometimes put on a face or a “mask” that hides the truer, deeper version of ourselves that we do not want others to see.  At times this can be because we have a belief about our true self that limits our capabilities to truly shine, and we hide it away from the world.

Some even use the mask to perform, in a way.  They can say or do things with their mask on that they would not normally feel comfortable doing.  The mask can help keep the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings behind the wall.

Unfortunately, this can lead to decisions being made about business deals, jobs, relationships, and other arrangements using false security or improper judgement.  The initiator of the discussion was not forthright about themselves and their part of the deal.  The receiver of the information made decisions based on invalid assumptions.  Overall, it is not authentic and yields imperfect results.

How much more efficient would it work if the true characteristics of all parties were clear and known, out in the open.  Sound, knowledgeable decisions could be made, and agreements based on the depth of facts can be upheld.
