“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

So often we feel that there is little we can do to make a change.  A change in our lives, our businesses or careers, or our communities.   It all feels so big, so immovable sometimes.  But often the littlest of effort starts the momentum needed to effect change.

Some changes come with a loud bang and a big explosion.  But many of us do not have dynamite and blasting caps to make that kind of an impact.  We have a small hammer and a chisel perhaps.  So, the best we can do is make a little sound and a tiny chip.

These small acts together though can generate a large energy when combined, and over time.  Look at how the wind and sand have formed canyons and rock formations in amazing geology around the world over millions of years of simply gusting past.   Watch as massive construction projects happen with a stone or brick set at one at a time, and one after another until it is towering into the sky.

A small stone toss into a still pond is not difficult to do.  It does not take much strength or force, just the will to pick up the stone and toss it in.   But look at how the ripples expand.  And if we all stood next to Mother Teresa and did the same, we would create a tidal wave!
