“Failure is NOT not-succeeding, failure is not trying.”

So many of us so often put up barriers to try new things because of fear.  At times we convince ourselves that pursuing an unknown might not provide the result that we hope or plan for.  For some reason we believe that maintaining our current actions will lead to a more predictable and pleasant result.  But what truly guarantees a more predictable and pleasant result?  Are we really going to miss that lesson from the year 2020?

How much achievement do we avoid because we do not even start?

The bottom line is that nothing is ever achieved if it is not even attempted.  The ultimate failure is not reaching an unplanned outcome, but rather lowering our eyes and not even giving an opportunity the chance to occur at all.

There are many lessons in history where trying was chosen over inaction and fear to generate a grand outcome.  Abraham Lincoln lost 8 elections before becoming President.  Thomas Edison, inventor of the lightbulb, explained his efforts as simply finding 10,000 ways that won’t work.  Many athletes have talked about the notion that all shots, swings, kicks, etc. that are NOT taken are missed.
