Graduation
Graduation reminds us of a special time at long last coming to an end. A hard-earned achievement finally and satisfyingly completed. A long journey that has reached its destination. The exclamation point on a powerful, forward looking statement.
But while signifying an ending, it also points to a new chapter and a new start. It represents opportunity not yet realized. Seeds have been sown that are now ready to grow and blossom.
Maybe it is a scary start with lots of risk and concern. It is certainly an unknown beginning with many pieces and parts yet to come and to unfold ahead. While it is a new door opened it does mean change, inevitable but valuable change.
Some of us do not like change. Anything but what we are used to causes stress and anxiety. Some, however, thrive on it. It provides a new perspective and a new potential goal. In all cases though change means new opportunity for growth not previously considered.
Graduation for me this year marks one year in a new home, in a new town, and a journey that crossed 8 states. One year in a new business, with a new approach. New colleagues, new friends, new neighbors, newly nearby family, and new paths and places to walk and explore every day.
The old curiosity and continuous learning remain, just toward a new and beautiful horizon!
